electric morning
shivering through the heaviness
of my eyes
micropoetry
Theogonia
From nothing
more than a smile and wink,
the briefest of hesitation
in your voice,
sprang everything given
of life.
Rain
Splattering
over concrete, sidewalks
blossom abundant
umbrellas
Finding your old
orange-handled toothbrush
in the cabinet, forgotten,
reflected
the way you also left
me
beauty
Wrapped
in your cloak of wool
and warmth, the playful color
of your eyes as
beautiful
as Arctic stars.
haven
Once glimmery
brushed and burnished
coppery, now
a thin refuge
of time waning
j’adore —
sentimental busker
romances
the subway
candlelit
Power lines down,
children curl drowsily together,
listening
to their grandmother’s voice
in the wavering
light
hunter
our tabby advances
warily
through yards as
motion sensors blaze
night stars into darkness
